These Days

I know I won't be included in any of the family memories/pictures for the past 6 months but I have been alive! So here are some pictures of random things I've done lately:

A trip to LA for work. And plenty of sneaking out to play...

...like saying I had "family thing" to sneak away from work and go to Disneyland. Shh! So at about 12 am while in the middle of take-off, Space Mountain broke down. I was bummed because it was the final ride i needed to complete the mountain trifecta, and it was the last ride of the day. But people in space suits came and escorted all of us "cadets" out of our "spaceships" while apologizing for having to interrupt our "voyage". I'm just glad we didn't breakdown in the middle of the corkscrew. In case you're wondering what the inside of space mountain looks like with the lights on, here:

Boring.

Also, while in CA, I hung out with a lot of football players (the charity I work for is the official charity of Fox Sports NFL). Hence the reason the 4 of us from my department went down to LA- for the NFL rookie premier at the LA Coliseum. Here are my coworkers and myself with D-Bo "the Show"- number 82 for the Kansas City Chiefs:

Look at his belt!

Outdoor movie by the Brooklyn Bridge for her 125th birthday:

Entire ice cream cone in the mouth.

A ride on the Staten Island Ferry:

A trip to Westhampton for Memorial Day:

Seeing Hamlet at Shakespeare in the Park:

Apparently you're not allowed to take pictures at the performance. I learned this after the staff woman below came over and insisted on watching me delete one I had taken. So instead, Patrick sneaked a picture on his phone which was masked behind a Junior Mints box. We're putting on our most casual, just trying to read the back of the Junior Mints box, faces. But that didn't fool her- because she came over and made him delete it in front of her again. Luckily he had already emailed it to me... And while she was watching him delete it she noticed this little gem saved on the phone as well....

...oops.
Patrick dubbed her Dog the Bounty Hunter of Shakespeare in the Park.

And ladies and gentlemen, my first video post on the blog! I can't believed this worked. It makes me want to sing I love technology circa Kip Dynamite. This is Paul S. rehearsing for our gala last night where he performed. I was there early doing things and he was practicing- sorry about the hotel staff's heads in the way. It was a great evening!

Post some CA pictures if you guys have any!
xoxo

Thanks for the video, I would love to hear more about the performance, how many songs were played, who played in the band?

That same picture thing happened to us when we went to see Wicked in LA. Loubige took a picture of us and the nazi picture protector came over and made her not only delete it, but go turn it in until after the show. Bummer. We were totally going to take pictures of the set so we could recreate it at home. Now Cort is just going to have to sing "popular" in front of some rinky-dinky old curtain.

'Dog the Bounty Hunter of Shakespeare in the Park' looks scary.....I wouldn't want to tick her off! Looks like you guys have had some fun!
Maines when is Cort's performance? Let us know when so I can come take some illegal photos!

Good stuff Jordan. We miss you out here but it looks like you're having a lot of fun. The other part of the story that Shalaine forgot to mention about the Wicked picture is that when Loubidge went to get her camera back after the show she got mad at the staff member because he was shaking his head at her. She said, "What's your problem?" And he mumbled, "I have terrets syndrome."

Close Cort, but if you're gonna tell it, my anal personality wants it told the way it really went down:
.........it was when I went to turn the camera in....the guy is shaking his head at me (so I think) as I turn my camera in. (me already feeling the fool for having to turn my camera in thinks he is scolding me like a child, like tsk, tsk young lady you SHOULDN'T be taking pictures)
So I say to him "You know, I don't really appreciate you shaking your head at me."
He says, "sorry ma'am I have terrets"

Uh, yah, I felt stupid. The ONE time I try and be bold and speak my mind--that ain't happening again. I was sooo embarrassed to go pick up my camera at the end of the show.
(sorry Green family for such a long comment)

What do you mean, "the one time." You are bold and speak your mind (to me) everyday!

Sometimes I wish I had a "turrets" excuse for my behavior.
